Abstract

This study aimed for three purpose. First, to have a sense housing area development in Gedebage as result of city extension. Second, to identify the influence of Bandung city extension on the development of housing location. Third, to find out the pattern of housing location in Gedebage Bandung Municipality. The acceleration of housing development in the area of Gedebage in Bandung Municipality is higer after city extension, it is faund that the size of housing area after the execution of city extension (1988-1997) was 2.120.037 m2 and the average of the development rate was 212.003,7 m2/annum. Whereas the size of housing area before the execution of city extension (1978-1987) was only 173.690 m2 and the average of the development rate was 17.369 m2/annum. The influence of city extension indicator of development of housing area in Gedebage was 89,29%. However the pattern of distribution was not clearly identified, it is more like and urban sprawl. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengetahui pengaruh pemekaran kota terhadap perkembangan luas area perumahan; (2) melihat kecepatan perkembangan luas area perumahan; (3) mengetahui pola perkembangan lokasi perumahan. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di Wilayah Gedebage Kota Bandung. Untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut, metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriftif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan luas area perumahan di wilayah Gedebage Kota Bandung dipengaruhi oleh meningkatnya perkembangan faktor sosial ekonomi akibat pemekaran kota. Perkembangan luas area perumahan di wilayah Gedebage dipengaruhi oleh pemekaran kota sebesar 89,29%. Kecepatan perkembangan luas area perumahan di wilayah Gedebage lebih tinggi terjadi setelah pemekaran kota. Rata-rata perkembangannya setelah pemekaran kota sebesar 212.003,7 m2/tahun dan sebelum pemekaran kota 17.369 m2/tahun.. Pola perkembangan luas area perumahan di wilayah Gedebage menunjukkan pola yang tidak jelas, bahkan mendekati pola urban sprawl. Kata kunci: Perkembangan lokasi perumahan, pemekaran kota.
