Eco or Environmental Labeling, certification of acknowledgement on sustainable products, could only be carried out within economically established countries by way of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA), a cradle–to–grave paradigm based instrument for measuring the products sustainability by analyzing energy, cost, and others environmental impact that would be spent and occur along product–life–cycle. What about buildings in terms of products of architecture which have always been involving energy? “System Approach To Architecture” offered by Handler practically has similar paradigm with LCA if completed with building management at the end of system, meanwhile Steele, Vale, and Yeang among many others architectural theorist and practitioner have been formulating design criteria intrinsically based on the cradle–to–grave paradigm as well, so that seems we have to be much more aware of designing qualified and reliable architecture within limited resources by constantly analyzing building–life–cycle within system of architecture.
